Cody and I moved to Nebraska at the beginning of September. Cody's job requires us to travel, and this just happened to be our next stop. We have enjoyed our stay so far and are so blessed that we get the opportunity to explore other parts of the U.S.
When one thinks of Nebraska, cornfields come to mind! Let me just tell you that there ARE tons and tons of cornfields! Everywhere you look-cornfields are as far as the eye can see! I haven't ever been much of a farm girl, but I find the corn growing process amazing! Isn't it terrific how farming has become so high tech! (Ok, Ok, I knew farming was high tech, but seeing everything up close has been a great learning experience for me!) My poor husband has been so patient with me, and finds it hilarious that I find the whole process so interesting! haha!
While we were in a neighboring town the other day, Cody stopped at a farm equipment supply place to show me the big combines. I told him that I thought it was so neat that they looked like Tonka Trucks-to which he informed me that "No, Tonka Trucks look like Combines!" Geez, I still have an awful lot to learn! Needless to say, I would love to ride in a combine while they plow the fields!
Cody and I also find that Husker pride runs deep! There are Husker shirts, hats, sweatshirts, flags, signs, and stickers EVERYWHERE! Anything and everything can be found with the Huskers brand on it. Every restaurant is packed on Husker game night with the most die hard fans. Although it seems a little much at times, we think it's great how much support Nebraska shows for their team!
The temperature was in the 40's today! I can't believe that winter is on it's way! For those of you back in Texas, send some warm weather our way!
